There comes a point with all data analysis where the results must be shared with others. While there are many forms this can take, a presentation or report is often created that includes plots as well as other text. At Times plots must be replaced because new data became available or changes to the formatting of a plot are necessary. If not automated, the process of updating plots can be time consuming and error prone. To avoid this, Makefiles can be used to automate the data analysis pipeline all the way from raw data to a completed report or presentation.
