Sessions
Lightning Talks are short 5-10 minute sessions presented by community members on a variety of interesting topics.
This talk will review social good projects benefiting from geometry-based machine learning algorithms. Data scientists interested in contributing to AI for social good and those interested in specific geometry-related methods will benefit from a quick overview of progress in the field. A passion for social good projects is a plus for participants, who will learn about specific social good projects as well as how geometry-based machine learning could help in their own social good initiatives. The talk will first overview a few common geometry-based methods (2-3 minutes) before diving into projects related to developing economies, epidemics, food insecurity, and climate change that have benefited from geometry-based machine learning approaches (5-7 minutes).
